Rutherford County rescuers were able to save a mother cow that had fallen in a 9-foot sink hole.
The Rutherford County Fire & Rescue responded to the call along Yeargan Road Wednesday evening.
Farmers said the cow’s baby was looking for it during the morning hours, prompting farm hands to search the grounds. They came across the cow wedged 5 feet down a 9-foot sink hole.
Rescue crews used 50 feet of tow straps hooked up to a tractor to successfully remove the cow. They report the cow is weak, but recovering.
The sink hole has since been filled to prevent further accidents.
