Truck towed, cow survives after collision – DeKalb Daily Chronicle

SOMONAUK – A pickup truck was the only casualty in a collision Tuesday involving the truck and a cow, police said.

At 9:06 p.m., Brian Rott of Leland was westbound on Suydam Road, west of Route 23, about two miles northwest of Somonauk, when he saw cattle loose in the area, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. He did not see the cow in front of him, however, and hit it with his pickup truck.

Chief Deputy Andy Sullivan said the owner of the cow removed it from the scene, and that the cow had survived.

Rott’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene. He was not injuried in the crash, police said. .
